Can kids' clothing get worse than this?

Time for a kids' clothing rant. I just got off hanes.com and ordered my girl some cute t-shirts. Plain, bright-colored shirts, some with flowers, none with words. Not too tight, not too short. They'll look great with the flowered skirts and capris we're going to sew together.

The I went to my mailbox and saw that my husband had sent me this from Michelle Malkin:

Beyonce’s new brand of pedophilia chic

Yeah, those are real clothes you can buy for your preschooler. More pics at the link. Don't miss the shoes. There is a particular term for that type of shoe...

I truly fear for the future of the United States when I see... stuff... like this. We are becoming more decadent and disgusting by the minute. Nero's Rome. Anyone still read history?

You're going to have to read _Stop Dressing YOur Six-Year-Old Like a Skank_!

I read the article, after I got over the initial shock of the picture, and I read the comments. I also followed some of the related links on Michelle's site. Most of them had me in tears. I'm out of touch with most of this and I was saddened not only for our daughters but also for our sons. It is now counter-cultural to have any moral values at all. No wonder people think homeschoolers are freaks- our kids wear clothes.

That is just so sick. Are these moms so afraid of aging that they have to live some sort of s8xy lifestyle thro their daughters? There is just something really sick about those parents.

I don't care if that sounds judging either. I AM judging. The grown ups incharge of those girls ought to know better.

How on earth are we supposed to teach sons to respect and cherish girls when they parade around like that? The way we dress our daughters say so much..

Yeah. That's bad. I live in dreadful La-La land, where I see this. I went to an event in Hollywood a couple months ago and saw a woman with two children dressed like this. The event had a live DJ, beer, and didn't even start 'till around 10PM. I left at around midnight, the time woman and children seemed to have shown up. Very, very sad, indeed.

Yep I have problems all the time buying clothes for Tink. Parents are the problem not the kids. They need to step up to the plate and parent and adults need to say no to these lines of clothing!

There are times when judgmental is good. Once shame went out of fashion, there's nothing to stop the culture from degenerating. Faster and faster.
